At our regular guild meeting in March, Joan Beyette will be presenting a trunk show of her quilts.

In April we will enjoy a lecture at the guild meeting on the 22nd, titled Borders the Built-In Way, from Sally Schneider. The next day on the 23rd Sally will teach her workshop on the same subject called Designing with Built-In Borders. See the program table at the meeting for more information about our March and April programs to include a sign up sheet for Sally’s workshop. Below is the downloadable class description and supply list for Sally’s workshop. I have used her border technique on some of my quilts and will bring a sample or two to the March meeting so you can see her concept. It’s a very clever idea that I like a lot. Her classes are always appropriate for any skill level, including from relatively new quilters to more advanced quilters looking for new ideas.

Sally likes to use small inexpensive projects for her workshops so you can sample an idea without investing a lot of fabric up front. This is a great way to try something new with fabric you may already have! Sally is an excellent and delightful nationally know teacher– don’t miss this opportunity to spend a fun day with her! I already have a couple of sign ups so be sure to call me at 479-268-4235 or or email me dtdonna@cox.net to sign up for a great day of learning. The class will be held at Central United Methodist Church at 26th and New Hope Rds. in Rogers from 9-3 (enter on the east side of the church). Please bring your own beverages and a sack lunch or plan to eat out nearby at Pinnacle Hills when we break for lunch.

New 2011 Quilt Show Info!

Check out the Quilt Show tab! I have loaded the catagories, rules, and entry form on the page. I’m not sure if it’s in a format that can be printed and used, but at least everyone can read it now. I will have Sheila help me format it so that visitors to our site can print the entry form right off of the site (but give us a few days to figure out how to do it!). Meanwhile, forms will be available at our guild meetings. I hope to have beautiful bookmarks available at our regular meeting in March, so plan to distribute them to all of your quilting friends and on all of your quilt shop forays. Remember, we need your quilts in order to have another fantastic show, so keep quilting!

Also coming soon — the 2011 raffle quilt! Pamela Adamson and Jeanette Strickert have finished the quilt top, and Karen Kielmeyer has agreed to quilt it for us. We will have tickets available soon, so save your pennies! With such great talent behind it, the quilt is going to be beautiful!
