McElwain to Speak to Quilt

Alice McElwain from Bella Vista will give a talk on  “Pieced, Painted and Polyester”  at out October meeting. She will also give us information on MOKA (Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas), a quilt study group, that is meeting this month at the Butterfield Trail Village Lodge in Fayetteville.   For details see the previous post.

M.O.K.A. Meeting

The Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas Quilt Study Group will have it’s meeting on October 26th and 27th, 2012.  The theme will be on quilts that represent the Women’s Christian Temperance Union.  The cost is $25.

The Friday Evening session, October 26th, will be hosted by The Rabbit’s Lair quilt shop located at 116 S. 1st Street in Rogers from 4-6pm.

The Saturday Session will be held at the Butterfield Lodge, located at 1923 E. Joyce Street in Fayetteville.  There will be a silent auction, program, quilt sharing and an antique pin cushion collection.  Registration will be from 9:00-10:00am.  A buisness meeting will be held from 10:00-10:30am.  From 10:30-11:00 information on Carrie Nation and others will be presented by Rheba Ford.

Lunch will be from 11:30-1:00 at Butterfield.  Alice McElwain will speak from 1:00-2:00:  A Temperance Quilt with Variations.  A Show and Tell will be from 2:00-3:00 with hopes that you will bring your temperance quilts to share.
