Quilt Drop-Off Info

You may begin dropping off your quilts for the show on Monday, March 5. All must be turned in by 5pm March 16. If you are putting your quilt in some type of carrier you want back, put your name on it.
Make sure the paper label is pinned to back of your quilt in the lower right corner. This will be used to sort quilts so they can be returned to you. The label is included in the registration paperwork.
Please fold you quilts so that corner can been seen by those sorting quilts for hanging.

Please call individuals before you attempt to make a drop off.

A Challenge!

From Sharon Holladay:
Heaven help us, Dorothy Day is bored!  She’s only had 88 entries to date and is getting antsy.  So, to motivate you a bit, here’s my personal challenge to the guild:
If we make 200 entries (2011 level), I will personally make and donate a baby quilt prominently displaying Sunbonnet Sue.  Those who know me understand this is one I swore I’d NEVER do.  🙂
If we make it to 250, that quilt will be done in my “favorite” color – PINK (yetch!!!)
If we match the 2009 entry level – 300 quilts entered, I, a certified batikaholic, will make that quilt in pink 30’s fabric.
Top the 2009 total and I’ll wear pink to every meeting for the rest of the year, and I don’t even own anything pink!
So, faced with two of my worst quilting fears, I challenge you, ladies and gents.  Print those forms and photos and let’s get Ms. Day hopping faster than the Easter Bunny!

Crunch Time!

Crunch time! And I don’t mean abdominal crunches.
I know all of you working furiously to finish your quilts for this show.
Before delivering them to a drop off remember you need to attach a form to the lower right corner.. Please fold your quilt so that can’t bee seen.
The form is part of the registration form, but here is a copy for your use:
QUILT IDENTIFICATION TAG
ATTACH this form, with two safety pins, to the BACK of your
quilt in the LOWER RIGHT CORNER.
FOLD QUILT SO THIS FORM IS VISIBLE.
Quilts must be delivered to a designated drop-off location NO LATER THAN March 5, 2013.

One Reason We Have a Qullt Show

I (Leeanna) just finished watching Ricky Tims on “The Quilt Show” making a kaleidoscope
quilt look a lot easier to make than it likely is.
I tell you that to say this: I got to take a class with Ricky Tims when he was
first starting out. Where? Right here in NW Arkansas, thanks to QUILT.
Having teachers like Ricky is possible because of the money raised through the
quilt show.
Ricky has been here twice and may never come again, but let me point out other
teachers we have been lucky enough to have: Marsha McCloskey, Margaret Miller,
Kaye England and, most recently Jacquie Gering who appears to be skyrocketing to
the top.
We can only bring teachers if we have a successful show and to do that, we need
your help.
Please enter your quilts — the more, the better. Also we needyour small quilts
for the auction and we need you to sell raffle tickets on Basket Case.
Volunteers are certainly needed, and we would love to have your holiday
challenge quilt to show our visitors how diverse quilting can be.
Please be a part of YOUR show.
Thanks,
The 2013 Quilt Show Committee
