Folks there has been a change of meeting place for the March meeting. I apologize, but it happened after I had posted meeting info.
The guild will meet at the Washington County Extension Service on the fairgrounds campus. The address is 2536 N. McConnell Ave.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS MEETING HAS MOVED TO THE WASHINGTON COUNTY EXTENSION OFFICE AT THE WASHINGTON COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS IN FAYETTEVILLE.
Klaudeen Hansen will be the speaker at our March meeting. She is also judging our quilts that week.
Klaudeen is listed in WHO’S WHO IN AMERICAN QUILTING and is the editor of QUILT ART ENGAGEMENT CALENDAR which features the work of regional quilters and the ADDRESS & BIRTHDAY BOOK featuring miniature quilts and their stories. Kaludeen’s quilts have been in many invitational shows both in the US and Europe. Her AMISH INFLUENCES exhibit of 12 wall quilts was in Oslo, Norway, during the Olympics. Teaching is Klaudeen’s area of greatest interest. A recent trip to Japan’s International Quilt Expo in Tokyo (1,000 quilts) gave Klaudeen a new focus for her popular exchange quilt classes and lots of new ideas to share. Published works include: “Klaudeen Hansen’s Addresses & Birthdays.”
The meeting is at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Springdale.
JoeAnn Reavers presented the following slate of officers at our March meeting:
President – Kathy Garringer
Vice President – David Moran
Secretary – Rose Lawrence
Treasurer – Barbara Hamernik
Quilt Show Chairwoman – Diane Crandell
The vote will be held March and they take office in June.
Lacinda Files is accepting GOOD QUALITY items for the guild store at the quilt show. She would like to have all items before March 18 when she plans on sorting and pricing. Her contact info is in the directory.
Therese Ramsey reports you have until March 28 to submit small quilts for the auction. Remember: Auction proceeds are necessary for the guild’s financial health so please make one — or two! Therese asks that you complete a form you can find on and turn it in with your quilt. It is under Quilt Show on the right hand side of this page.
The Wingate by Wyndham will again offer a special rate for those attending or vending at the quilt show,
The rate is $59 per night. Please ask for the Benton County Fairground rate.
The Wingate is about a mile from the fairgrounds.
