Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Co. will be the guest speaker for the June 26 meeting Quilters United in Learning Together.
Doan became an Internet sensation with her quilting tutorials on YouTube which demonstrate her quick-quilt methods. Her store, in Hamilton, Mo., is the second largest employer in the town of 1,800. Workers are credited with expediting as many as 30,000 orders a month.
“Quilting Quickly” is the topic of her program which will get underway at 7 p.m. The meeting is free to QUILT members, but there will be a $5 charge for non-members. The meeting is St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 2898 S 48th St., in Springdale.
On June 27, Doan will teach her “exploding block” method during a workshop at the Rogers Public Library, 711 S. Dixieland Road. The workshop will begin at 9 a.m. Cost is $30 for members and $40 for non-members. For information contact Nora Krein at Knora@cox.net.
