Lola Jenkins August Speaker

Lola Jenkins will be our guest Aug. 28. Her program is entitled Miss Bubble Buster.
Lola will present a work shop on Aug 29 entitled “Fantasy Collage.” Here are some details:
Fantasy Collage
Full Day Class
Students will learn to make a collage quilt approximately 18 x 18 in size. Students will use large panels mixed with a variety of beautiful fabrics to create a work of art that requires no art training.  Techniques used will include but not be limited to, paints, oil pastels, and colored pencils.  Students will complete the project in class and no sewing machine will be required.  Students need to bring a foam core display board to use as a portable design wall and ironing board.  In addition, students should bring the following: scissors (small scissors that can cut tiny pieces if needed), pins, small iron, 1 big glue stick, fusible web of choice (suggestion: wonder under web about 1/3 of a yard), appliqué pressing sheet (optional), and batting about 20 x 20 warm and natural or 100% wool. Students need to bring a large panel that inspires them and scraps of a variety of fabrics from their stash that they think would go well with the panel chosen.  Suggestions:  flowers, water, rocks, sky, lighthouse, house, boats, and any other elements that you thing might be helpful.  Optional kit is available for $30 ( kit includes all fabrics needed for the class).  Optional kit fee is in additon to the workshop tuition and is optional.
Cost is $40 for QUILT members and $45 for non-members (does not include optional kit fee).
