Dogwood Festival Registration

The Dogwood Festival has been an annual event in Siloam Springs, Arkansas since 1974 and has been successful in attracting large crowds each year. By providing a variety of merchandise vendors, food vendors, activities and entertainment, the festival has continued to grow and is looked forward to by people from virtually all over the United States.

This year the Dogwood Committee would like to place a special emphasis on arts and crafts. We would appreciate you sharing this invitation to participate with your membership. The cost of the booth is reasonable and will provide you the opportunity to share and sell your craft with the attendees. Your membership can get more information on the internet at

A special opportunity is being made this year to a few craftspeople who would want to demonstrate the processes used to create their items in their booth during the Festival. The Dogwood Committee has set aside a limited number of booth spaces which will be provided at no cost to those craftspeople who we choose that are interested in demonstrating their crafts skills during the festival. Booth spaces will be provided to any other qualified crafters at the normal cost. Estate Sale of Quilting Items

Mary Knapp will be holding an estate sale of many quilting related items that belonged to her good friend Nelda Donahue. Nelda was one of our former presidents. There will be fabric and many quilting books as well. This sale will be held at: 1310 S. 9th Street in Rogers. This location is just one block off the 8th and Oak intersection across from the Rogers Cemetary. The sale will be Saturday, October 22nd, from 8:30 to 4:00. Washington County Fair Winners

Thanks to all those guild members who entered quilts in the 2011 Washington County Fair held in late August, including Ann Roberts, LoVina Payton, Kate Allen, Carla Gay, Katha Carter, and Adele Atha. Hopefully these quilts have inspired a fair-goer to consider the creative world of quilting that we all enjoy so much! Thanks to Sager Creek Quilts and Rabbit’s Lair for sponsoring many of the special quilting awards. Q.U.I.L.T. gave two $25 prizes for “Best Applique by Machine” which went to Jenny Johnson and “Best Use of Color” which was awarded to Katha Carter.

Pat Anglin Cuddly Quilts for Kids

A total of 26 quilts were turned in at the August meeting and given to Diana Gilchrist for distribution at the Children’s Shelter. 11 quilts were from the workshop in July. New quilts were turned in by Lou McCelland-5, Lila Rostenberg-2, Paula Mariedaughter-1, Stella Day-2, Grace Grame-1, and Lovina Payton-1. 2 Quilts were given to Jennie Wehrenberg at the front desk-name unknown and 1 quilt was left after Show and Tell-name unknown. If you made these, let me know so that I can give you credit. Members took 17 quilt kits put together at the workshop to quilt. If you are making quilts for our project and need batting, email me the size and I will bring batting to the next meeting. I will also bring more kits to be quilted.
