Quilters United in Learning Together
Q.U.I.L.T. was formed to promote the appreciation of the rich heritage of the art of quilting and to enhance each members own quilting skills and knowledge. It shall also be the purpose of this organization to expand and enrich the art of quilting for future generations.
Membership Benefits
Monthly Meetings– Fourth Thursday of each month January through October at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Springdale. (Except May, which is Airing of the Quilts at Loneta Blevins’ house), November and December will be a combined meeting on the First Thursday in December. Sign in and fellowship starts at 6:00 PM, Free Mini-Lesson before the meeting (when available and notification will be in the newsletter prior to meeting) and Business Meeting and Program starts at 6:30 PM.
Programs– Well known speakers, as well as the Guild’s own talented members, lecture and present a variety of stimulating programs related to quilting. There will be a $5 charge for non-members when there are national speakers.)
Workshops– Accomplished quilting teachers present workshops for members throughout the year at a reasonable cost, as well as the quarterly Super Saturday Sew-In classes. (Workshops are opened to the public a month before the class)
Quilt Show– Biennial Spring Quilt Show with opportunities for all members to participate.
Name Tags– Kits are given to new members to make their name tag, which are worn each month at regular meetings and special events. Those not wearing their name tags are “fined” .25 cents. These “fines” help fund the Library for the purpose of purchasing new books and patterns.
Library– A growing lending library that has books, videos and magazines available for monthly checkout by Guild Members.
Monthly Newsletter– Includes notices of meetings, workshops, vendors, other activities and much more.
Yearly Dues– are $25.00. We begin a business year in January and dues are prorated at $15.00 starting in July. Junior memberships are $10.00 for members age 18 and under. Dues for members age 80+ are complimentary. (Membership chair must be notified of complimentary memberships)
Inclement Weather Policy– If the Springdale Public Schools are closed because of inclement weather the Q.U.I.L.T. Guild meeting will be cancelled.
