In the case of group quilts, the group name will be listed in the event directory. Group contributors will be

If the quilt was pieced and/or appliquéd by one person and quilted by another, both names will appear in the event directory and on the display card. In some categories where a winning entry is pieced or appliquéd by one person and quilted by another, show ribbons will be awarded to both quilt makers. These categories are indicated by a double asterisk in the quilt categories section below.
11. The show sponsors reserve the right to move a quilt to a category other than the one in which it was entered. 12. A Quilt Identification Form must be attached, with at least two safety pins, to the right lower corner of the back of each entry. Quilts should be folded so that the Quilt Identification Form is visible.

15. Entrants are responsible for citing quilt pattern sources or inspiration and/or for obtaining display permission for show entries even if a pattern is modified. For example, a quilter who uses a pattern found in a book, magazine, or workshop should cite the source or inspiration of the pattern or obtain permission to display the quilt in public (if required). (See registration form for details).
2013 QUILT SHOW Categories:
There are no size restrictions by category unless specified in the category description. The quilts should be placed in categories based on the intent of the quilter entrant. Example: Is it a Bed Quilt vs. Large Wall Hanging?
Bed Pieced Quilt: **
A bed quilt completely pieced using a traditional, contemporary, or original design or block.
Bed Hand Appliquéd Quilt: **A bed quilt primarily showcasing the art of appliqué. It must be appliquéd by hand. Machine or hand piecing is acceptable for background, sashing, or border.
Bed Machine Appliqué Quilt: **
A bed quilt primarily showcasing the art of appliqué. It must be appliquéd by machine. Machine or hand piecing is acceptable for background, sashing, or border.
Bed Mixed Techniques: **
A bed quilt featuring a combination of techniques, including but not limited to piecing, appliqué, fabric manipulation, or folding. It may be a traditional, contemporary, or original design.\
Bed Hand Quilted:
A bed quilt that is entirely hand quilted. A quilt entered into this category must be completely hand quilted by one quilter. This category showcases the skills of a quilt maker who carries on the tradition of hand quilting. The quilt will be judged solely on the quality of the hand quilting.
Bed Machine Quilted: ** A bed quilt completely machine quilted by one quilter. This category showcases the art and skills of the
home or long arm quilter. The quilt will be judged solely on the quality of the machine quilting.
Large Pieced Wall Hanging: **
A pieced quilt designed to hang on a wall. The pieced design may be traditional, contemporary, or original. Large Appliquéd Wall Hanging: **
An appliquéd quilt designed to hang on a wall. It may be appliquéd by hand or machine. A small amount of piecing is acceptable for background, sashing, or border.
Wall Hanging Mixed Techniques: **
A quilt designed to hang on a wall, featuring a combination of techniques, including but not exclusive of piecing, appliqué, fabric manipulation, folding, etc. It may be a traditional, contemporary, or original design.
Small Wall Hanging: Total circumference no larger than 120 inches. ** A small quilt designed to hang on a wall, featuring any quilting or embellishment technique. The size
restriction encourages the quilt maker to create a fabric entry in small scale.
Miniature Quilts: Maximum width 24 inches; maximum length 24 inches.
A miniature quilt is by definition the miniaturization (reduced or scaled down) design of a full size bed quilt. By accurately reducing the size of the quilt blocks and components, the quilter produces an exact replica of a full size quilt.
Pictorial Quilts: ** Quilts specifically showcasing landscapes, buildings/architectural designs, portraits, animals, or other subjects representing a drawing, painting, or photograph.
Time Span Quilts: ** Quilts completed by the entrant using old quilt tops or blocks made by another quilt maker (known or unknown) from the past. This category celebrates the quilter who preserves and honors the makers of old quilts.
Art Quilts: A quilt of any size, shape, or technique that doesn’t fall within one of the other listed categories is acceptable. An art quilt is the work of one quilt artist and must consist of the basic fabric sandwich: a top, batting, and backing. Originality, creativity, and innovation MUST be showcased in the piece. The piece must contain hand or machine quilting. The quilt maker may use a variety of techniques as long as fabric and quilting form the basis of the piece. The artist may incorporate
– a traditional block or design used in a new or unusual manner,
– commercial or hand dyed fabric,
– an original design, or
– an innovative technique using fabric, fiber, thread, or embellishments.
Other Techniques – Quilts: ** Yo-Yo, Cathedral Windows, Whole Cloth, Crazy Quilt, Tied quilt, Hand or Machine Embroidery, etc.
Guild Challenge Quilt Rules: Open to Guild Members Only    (only one submission per member)

Holiday…pick your favorite, or even your mom’s favorite and give it as a gift after the show! No holiday is off limits, so use your imagination or be traditional – it’s up to you!
NOTE: This year the top eight winning QUILT Guild Challenge Quilts will be entered into the 2013 AQS Ultimate Guild Challenge contest in Grand Rapids. QUILT Guild Challenge Quilt entrants must agree to enter their quilt into this contest if it is selected by the guild show judge as one of the top eight winning quilts

Children’s Quilts: A quilt made by a child or group of children under the age of 18 years. (A non-judged category)
Baby Quilts: Total circumference no larger than 240 inches. A quilt specifically made for a baby. Any technique may be used, but must consist of the basic fabric sandwich: a top, batting, and backing.
