The guild is no longer sponsoring a retreat, however, Liz Ewing and Amy Rollins are planning one in August. There are still openings. Contact them for details.
The January speaker is our own Raija Salomaa who is lecturing on “The journey of a quilt pattern designer”. Her Friday is her Kimberling quilt at B-Sew-Inn in Fayetteville.
Please note: If Springdale schools are out because of weather conditions, the guild does not meet.
QUILT will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 for a joint November/December meeting. The meeting will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 2898 S. 48th St., Springdale.
The meeting theme will be “A Christmas Mystery.”
Karen Kielmeyer of Bentonville will present the program at the Oct. 22 meeting of QUILT of Northwest Arkansas.
Kielmeyer has received national recognition for her quilts and has exhibited at many major shows, including those sponsored by the International Quilt Association, American Quilter’s Society, National Quilting Association and International Machine Quilters Association.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 2898 S. 48th St.
Alice McElwain will present the Sept. 24 program. Her topic will be “Civil War Quilts and the Underground Railroad,” a discussion of quilts and their stories, as well as the myth of the Underground Railroad.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 28982 S. 48th St., in Springdale. A social period begins at 6:30 p.m.
